100th Celebration

 August 19-21 2022

"I'll go back to Waukeela,
I'll walk that road again..."

‘Mid Pines Foundation and Camp Waukeela welcome you back to the pine grove. We are delighted to join together in celebration of summers past and future at this glorious anniversary reunion event.

The ‘Mid Pines Foundation continues to work tirelessly to raise funds for camperships and foster a strong alumnae community. Our mission is to ensure that the lifelong impact of the Waukeela experience is available to a diversity of families and, through that, we all keep Waukeela in our lives, long past our camping days. For the summer of 2022 ‘Mid Pines Foundation, with the help of our generous supporters, was able to assist eleven campers in attending camp. Proceeds from the 100th Anniversary Reunion will go to support future camperships.

As we come together to celebrate 100+ years of camp, it is important to acknowledge the challenges we have faced in light of the pandemic. These adversities have demonstrated how important the camp experience is to all who attend Camp Waukeela. There is something to be said for the magic of the pine grove, the energy of shared songs during meals, the power of friendships formed ‘mid the pines, and the comfort traditions bring to us all.

It is this magic that continues to bring us all back, after so many years, to share and relive the memories, the friendships, and the joy of camp. So, after patiently waiting for two years, we hope your weekend is filled with this very magic and that you continue to come back and stay connected with us far into the future.

This weekend is long-awaited and so deserved. Thank you for joining us and for your continued support of ‘Mid Pines Foundation!

WEEKEND GUIDELINES

We are looking forward to celebrating with you!  To ensure a fair, fun, safe, and equitable weekend, we ask you to adhere to the following expectations.

Staff   If you have any questions throughout the weekend, please ask a Staff member or a member of the ‘Mid Pines Foundation. These individuals are wearing orange nametags.

Guests   Only registered guests are allowed at the Reunion.  To ensure we can account for registrants, please wear your nametag throughout the weekend.  If you are expecting a visitor, please have them sign in at the front office. We ask that any visitors keep their visit brief and, in fairness to registered attendees, not attend any events or meals.

Health In order to protect our most vulnerable community members, we require that all eligible attendees complete or maintain full vaccination status (per CDC) so that we can gather as safely as possible. Please bring physical or digital proof of your vaccination status to the event.  We will design the event with the latest recommended COVID protocols in place and will share those details in advance of the event. If anyone in your household feels ill or has been exposed to COVID-19 please stay home.  We’re all in this together!

Late Registration   Any guests who wish to register over the course of the weekend should report to the office.

Parking   Please park your vehicle in designated parking areas.  If you need help carrying luggage to your cabin, wheelbarrows are available.

Departure   You may arrive as early as 2 pm on Friday the 19th, but we ask that you kindly depart by 12pm on Sunday

Children   Although the weekend is family-friendly, we ask that you do not leave children under the age of 12 unattended.  We hope to have a babysitting service during dinner on Saturday night.  Should you wish to partake in this paid service, please contact a member of the ‘Mid Pines Foundation.

Food Policy   Food in the cabins is prohibited.  If you have special dietary needs, please notify ‘Mid Pines Foundation prior to your arrival so we can coordinate storing your food in Camp’s walk-in.

Alcohol Policy   Attendees are welcome to bring beer and wine to the event. You must be 21 in order to consume.  Drunk or disorderly conduct will not be permitted.  Swimming while under the influence is dangerous and will not be allowed.

Quiet Hours   We ask that all registrants observe quiet hours after 10pm.  If you would like to socialize after hours, please gather in the Lodge, Dining Room, or Bung area.  And please remember…voices carry!

Swimming will occur only at Little Dock and during supervised hours.  We will provide many opportunities for you to take a dip while there is a lifeguard on duty. Lifeguard hours will be posted on the Bung porch. The beach is closed when there is no lifeguard present.  If you’d like to swim when the beach is closed, you may do so at the public bathing beach and at your own risk .

PDs and Showers   PDs and showers will be available throughout the weekend.

Environmental Concerns   Please make use of Trash and Recycling bins in the alleys. When showering, please remember that Camp’s water supply is limited—please be responsible with your water usage.

Security   We are not responsible for lost or stolen valuables.

WiFi As you know, camp has always been a time to disconnect.  We hope you will be able to do so this weekend. Limited WiFi may be available.

Cancelation Policy All registration fees for the 100th Celebration are non-refundable.
